Born in Havana, Cuba, Maria immigrated to the United States as a small girl and has called Southern California home ever since. Growing up as an only child in an environment that was not always inspiring and empowering, she was immediately drawn to the concept behind 4GIRLS. Today, she is a mother, wife, high-tech professional and volunteer who is actively involved in her community. Although her work with the 4GIRLS Organization is focused on girls, as a mother of a boy, she understands full well the importance of also inspiring and empowering the future men of our society.​​​
