Our Inspiration
by our founder, Claudia Copley

In the early 2000s, I had the privilege of attending California's Women’s Conference, founded by then First Lady Maria Shriver. For several years, I was immersed in a day of empowerment and inspiration, surrounded by powerful speakers who shared their personal journeys. Their stories resonated deeply, offering profound insights on how to live life with love, strength, and purpose.
As I listened, I couldn’t help but think, 'I wish I had experienced something like this when I was a young girl.' Growing up in a turbulent environment and shaped by emotional hardship and instability, I never had the chance to learn about self-confidence or the power of my voice until I became an adult. That realization planted a seed within me—a vision to create something transformative for the next generation of girls, one that would empower them to discover their worth and own their voices at an early age.
I imagined a conference where girls from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and economic statuses could come together for a weekend of inspiration and empowerment. But instead of simply listening to speakers, these girls would engage in hands-on, interactive activities—self-defense, vision journaling, self-expression, dance—designed to help them explore new things, discover their own strengths, and build lasting self-confidence. This would be more than a conference; it would be an experience where girls discover their voice, uncover their strengths, and begin owning their power at an early age, setting the foundation for a future of confidence and limitless potential.
Our Approach

Many former participants become Junior Mentors during high school, where they expand their leadership skills and help to plan and facilitate workshops for the next generation of girls.
Adult Mentors provide guidance to Jr. Mentors, helping them to build self-confidence and grow as leaders.
Our approach results in a supportive community of girls and women who encourage each other's growth and continuously introduce fresh ideas into the program.
